Cabbage Thoran

Ingredients: Cabbage: Half of Medium Sized
Curry Leaves – 4 -5
Turmeric Powder – ¼ Teaspoon
Chilly Powder – A Pinch
Red Chilly Dry – 2
Mustard Seeds – ¼ Teaspoon
Urad Dal – ¼ Teaspoon
Oil – 2 Tablespoons
Salt to taste


  1. Wash and chop the cabbage into fine pieces. You can also use the electronic chopper for this.
  2. Heat oil in a Saucepan or Kadai.
  3. Add in the mustard seeds, urad dal, and red chillies.
  4. Let it splutter.
  5. Add in the cabbage.
  6. Sprinkle in turmeric and chilly powder.
  7. Fry for a while till the cabbage starts to shine.
  8. Add in the salt and cook till the cabbage is done on low flame.
  9. Cabbage Thoran is ready to be served with Rice or even with chapatti.
